Citizens Assembly & Membership Meeting
16/11/2024
We Wai Kai Citizens Assembly / Nation Community Meeting
November 16-17, 2024
As our Citizens Assembly and Community Meeting is fast approaching, our team would like to share meeting details so that you can solidify your plans. Both meetings will be at the Quinsam Hall in Campbell River.
November 15th, we will be having a community dinner and a meet and greet with your Chief and Council. We encourage you to come and chat with us and ask questions. The team will be there from 4:00-7:30 and dinner will be served at 5:00.
November 16th, registration/sign-in will start at 8:00 am and the meeting will begin at 9:00 am until approximately 4:30 pm, followed by dinner at 5:00 pm.
November 17th will consist of the Nation’s Community meeting and should be wrapped up by early afternoon.
We are still developing the agenda’s and the meeting packages and we will share it with you once finalized.
The team really would appreciate your pre-registration so that we can plan accordingly. The cut-off date for pre-registration is Oct 18th at 4:00. A travel subsidy will be available for our Members who live outside of the Campbell River area. The maximum subsidy is calculated on the roundtrip kilometres from your residence to Campbell River. Additional details of the subsidy is provided in this package.
We have some fantastic door prizes lined up this year, and if you attended last year, you know just how impressive they were! To make things even more exciting, we’ve added a few new rules:
- Pre-registration grants you 1 ticket for the grand prize.
- You must be present to win both the grand and door prizes.
- Every attendee will receive 1 ticket, but the exact time of distribution will remain a secret.
- Door prizes will be drawn randomly throughout the meeting.
If you win a door prize, your name will be removed from future door prize draws but will be added to the grand prize draw.
This means that if you pre-register and attend the meeting when tickets are handed out, you’ll have two chances to win the grand prize! Pre-registration is essential for us to plan accordingly and ensure we have enough food for everyone.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our office at (250) 287-9460 or email us at info@wewaikaitreaty.com.
